# CAD Agent Studio CAD Agent Studio is a two-pane web app for agent-driven CAD work: - left pane: agent chat, uploads, provider/model selection, and Viewer context cards - right pane: embedded 3D preview and CAD edit toolbar ## Setup Configure providers in `../../config/llm.config.yaml`. Prefer putting secrets in the environment: ```bash OPENAI_API_KEY=... OPENAI_BASE_URL=https://api.openai.com/v1 DEEPSEEK_API_KEY=... ``` `OPENAI_BASE_URL` can point at an OpenAI-compatible third-party endpoint. For local-only setups, providers may also use `apiKey: sk-...` directly in the YAML. If `apiKeyEnv` accidentally contains a key value instead of an environment variable name, the server treats it as a direct key for compatibility. ## Run ```bash npm install npm run dev -- -H 127.0.0.1 -p 53821 ``` Open `http://127.0.0.1:53821`. ## CAD Flow Uploads are stored under `../../models/agent-studio/`. STEP/STP uploads write a `cad-task.json` manifest and are converted to an STL preview sidecar for the embedded right-pane WebGL renderer. CAD Agent Studio does not start the standalone CAD Viewer service. Generated models keep STEP as the primary CAD artifact and export STL as a preview mesh. The right-pane toolbar mirrors the CAD Viewer edit tool set and interaction shape, but tool picks are attached to the next agent request as structured `cadViewer.editIntent` / `cadViewer.selection` context instead of being copied to the clipboard. The handoff is silent in the UI: no success modal, no copied text panel. Modification requests create revision folders with `edit-request.json`. The generation adapter should apply that request to the editable source recorded in `cad-task.json`; STEP-only uploads are marked as reconstructed edits.
